February 9, 2007, Newsletter Issue #61: Housing Kingsnakes Together

Tip of the Week

Hereīs a good rule of thumb if you are thinking about housing two or more kingsnakes together.

Donīt.

There isnīt much a kingsnake likes on his menu more than a nice helping of fresh kingsnake. In the wild, these guys are snake eaters, and they sure donīt stop in captivity. Breeders who put pairs together - carefully - have to watch them closely or risk ending up with one or even two dead snakes if they decide they are in a mood for a meal rather than a mate.
