Honey, Don't Forget To Water The Snake: Helping your snake shed

A snake kept in too dry of an environment may develop dysecdysis, or shedding problems. You can help by giving your snake a bath, a large waterbowl to soak in, or a hiding box filled with damp sphagnum moss. If your snake is tame, you can also help by manually shedding your snake or letting them crawl through a towel you hold and gently squeeze.

Venomous snakes may be hooked into a bucket with a few inches of water in the bottom, or placed in a rough burlap sack with damp moss until they succeed in shedding.
